Our open positions

  • The Senior Adult Pastor will be a highly relational man of God who is active and energetic. Ideally, he would have been a Senior or Solo -Pastor with ministry experience in a growing setting. He will lead form his relationship with God, be pastoral and caring, able to develop and lead teams and teach God’s Word.

    Pastoral Responsibilities:

    Provide servant leadership in helping to support and fulfill the mission, vision, core values, and goals of the church.

    Demonstrate a commitment to Christian living, espouse a Christian philosophy of life, and belief in the Christian Church and her teachings in accordance with WHBC stated beliefs and values.

    Assist others to cultivate intimacy with God and growth in Christ-like character through personal and corporate disciplines.

    Work with other staff and church leaders under the leadership of the Lead Pastor.

    Responsibilities:
    - Senior Adult Ministry

    Develop a unified ministry to Senior Adults in our church.

    Reach out to the Senior Adults in our community.

    Develop a team to oversee activities, fellowships, and Bible studies for Senior Adults.

    - Oversee the Grief Ministry

    Oversee and Further Develop the Member Care/Pastoral Care Ministry

    Ensure that members and prospects who are in the hospital, rehab facilities, nursing homes, shut-ins are consistently ministered to.

    Work with our Member Care Pastor, deacons and volunteers to see this accomplished.

    - Counseling

    Teaching on Sunday morning or other times as planned.

    Other duties as requested by Lead Pastor


    Skills and Abilities Needed to be Successful in this Role:

    Excellent interpersonal, communications, and presentation skills. 

    Strong working knowledge of the Holy Scriptures, biblical ministry models, and strategies. 

    Excellent leadership abilities

    Solid organization and administration skills

    Able to work in a multi-generational environment

    Able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple task simultaneously

    Able to Build, Sustain and Lead Teams

    Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt well to change, with a relaxed mental attitude.


    Personal Characteristics & Qualifications

    Meets the Biblical qualification of a pastor/elder.

    Willing and able to become an active member of WHBC.

    Teachable with commitment to personal growth

    Commitment to support the church leadership and staff.

    Self-motivated and possesses a strong work ethic.

    Emotionally and mentally stable and mature.

    Possesses integrity.

    High Emotional Intelligence


    Education & Experience

    Undergraduate degree required, Seminary or Bible College degree preferred.

    Minimum of 8 years of productive, full time pastoral or church staff leadership experience is required.
